Loose Ends

Are you feeling it, too?  The sap is rising, the snow has nearly melted, and spring cleaning season is here.  I’m certainly feeling it.  I think I mentioned that I’ve been trying to finish up old projects – knitting, sewing, mending .  . . I’ve had the urge to scrub down parts of the house that have not seen a scrubbin in a long time, like the inside of the dishwasher.  We’ve started to tackle our upstairs “storage” room, which was desperately needed, and I’m very excited about.  That room is going to become an office/guest room, and since we’re about to knock down more walls downstairs, we have the motivation to get it done.  We got one of those giant dumpster-bag things to fill up with the assorted farm/renovation trash, which means that soon, hopefully soon, we’ll be able to start really going on the garden.  Ben did clear off one bed in the hoophouse and plant greens – he couldn’t help himself and I can’t blame him, since it was in the 90s in there over the weekend.

I’ve been trying to get a bit more organized these past months, too.  I started using SimpleMom’s Daily Docket, and I love it.  In fact, I love it so much that Ben started using it, and he loves it so much that now we make our staff at Wheatberry use it.  I have noticed, though, that working on all this deep cleaning means that a little less of the regular cleaning gets done.  Oh well – it’s totally worth it.

(This little embroidery project is another unfinished loose end I’m trying to finish.  I started it when Sew Liberated came out, um, years ago.  I want to finish it up and hang it up in the kids room.  I do like it – so why don’t I ever work on it?  Mysteries.)
